As a representative of ILLView Inc., Phillipe Douthard a.k.a ILL Phil is trying to breathe fresh air into the music industry. He is influenced by all genres of music ranging from old jazz records to new age records. His strongest point is his versatility. Not only is he able to sample old songs, he is also able to compose his full sounding tracks without expensive equipment. As he was growing up in Arlington, VA, he never knew that he would evolve from a listener of music to a producer of music. Music has really helped him evolve as a person. It has made him more open minded to the world, and has made him more appreciative of every genre of music…from the precision of classical music to the artistic expression of old school hip hop. As a graduate of Virginia Tech, this has also been helpful to his music career, and his music career has been helpful to his years at school. Being able to make the music connections at school that have the same passion as he does has been priceless. Music was also a form of a stress reliever at school. Making music as it comes naturally is the best way to make music and this is what Phil believes in. He is tired of hearing the same sounding songs on the radio and the cookie cutter rappers.
Being a part of ILLView Inc, he is more than confidant that his team will not be denied and will be able to shape his music career in to eventually a super producer. As of right now, he is a student of the game and has only been making beats for 3 years. Being from Virginia he has a hard act to follow since Timbaland and the Neptunes are from VA as well, but he takes it as a challenge. He sets the bar high so he can knock out quality music.
